Who do you turn to when it all goes wrong?
Today was one of those days in motherhood when things didn’t go quite right. I was feeling really grateful today for having my mother’s group. We met at the beach today and we all just got together to share stuff that was going on and learn from each other.
The reason I’m sharing this with you is because having a support group works for moms, it works for fat loss, it works for every place in your life.
If you are looking for support in your life, create a group of people around you that will help you achieve your goals. So if it’s asking for family support, if it’s going out, and getting a personal coach or trainer, make sure that you’re supported for your goals with your weight loss. Make sure you are supporting in your life. It really makes a huge difference.
Today I left my house feeling really really frustrated, only because I didn’t know what to do. The same thing happens with weight loss. Sometimes it’s really frustrating because we get such conflicting facts. For me right now, I am struggling to get my little one to sleep. One person tells me one thing, one person tells me another. It’s confusing and frustrating!
Same thing goes for weight loss, I know there are so much information out there. So it’s a matter of picking one thing and sticking with it for a while. This is important. So many people I know try something for a week, or even a few days. It doesn’t work right away and they give up. Fat loss doesn’t happen over night. You need to keep working at it. It took awhile to put the fat on, it may take awhile to take it off.
If you are confused by all the conflicting information out there, ask for help. Look to people who are experts in the field. The right thing for your friend or neighbor may work well for them, but may be the wrong approach for you.
Once you seek help from the experts. Create a team of people around you to help support you in making your dreams come true. this can include friends and family, co-workers etc. Tell them what you are doing and ask them to join you in exercise and dietary changes. Most importantly ask them to hold you accountable.
