When I was about 17 years old, I spent 2 weeks in Utah doing a NOLS program (National Outdoor Leadership School). We kayaked and rafted down the Green River.

Being a leadership program… we had to teach ‘something’ and we had to do it with whatever knowledge and resources we had with us on the empty beaches that could only be gotten to by helicopter.

At the end of the long days in the boats… I would massage people. I loved it as did they.

People asked how I did it.

Truth is… I had never been taught, it was just something I did and had always been gifted at.

This past week as I have been sinking deeper and deeper into my purpose… I have been reminded…

I AM A HEALER.

These massages and many other healing ways for me… these things that you do so well and you don’t even need to be taught… they are your gift, as healing is one of mine.

The stuff that is so easy and natural that you feel bad charging for it. These gifts are what you are here to share with the world.

I eventually went on to get a Diploma in Remedial massage and many other healing modalities… I even taught myfascial release for a short time at my college.

I have studied Reiki, Crystal healing, nutrition, flower essences, aromatherapy, shiatsu, bits of homeopathy, feng shui, numerology, shamanic work, transpersonal work, quantum healing the list goes on and on…

And yet… for YEARS… I have not associated myself as a ‘healer’. It’s like I FORGOT.

I laugh as I write it. I’m OBSESSED with healing in the most amazing way and have been for decades.

I want to learn more and more and more about energy work, the quantum field, womb space, tantra, etc… It’s never ending for me.

I rebel against the pharmaceuticals fully believing that we have the innate power to bring our own body back to homeostasis and to heal ourselves.

And it is in this state of balance or what I now would say is BLISS… we are in a natural state… and we can manifest and create all our desires in the now so quickly.

When I went to my many myofascial release trainings… we dove deep into the energetic system… You see fascia holds EVERYTHING. It holds your bones, organs, muscles, tissues… everything… together. But it also holds emotion and trauma.

So when we would come together as healers… the most wild, intense and freeing experiences would happen as we would unwind the body and ultimately… release the emotions and traumas associated with it..

Let me say here… it’s not about the person, the healer, themselves… it’s actually about the person getting out of their own way, tapping into universal energy, and allowing the body to unwind itself and simply hold space for the person to do what they get to do.

It’s how Hugh and I met. Soul-aligned… energetically connected… completely unraveling in the healing spaces we were a part of.

I massaged for many years and then became a mindset coach.

Whilst those days are forever imprinted in my soul and whilst Hugh and I can still help each other with body unwinds… I guess I forgot… at the heart of who I am…
