THE SHORT-TERM, LONG-TERM GAME AND GETTING EGO TO MOVE ASIDE…
It’s a funny thing… the fine line between listening to soul, showing up and doing the work, and the inner demon who is sabotaging you and keeping you playing small.
I’ve had a big day with meetings, quantum healing sessions, training, etc… and I usually don’t let ANYONE take my time in the morning from my morning routine. The only people who can appear in that space is my family and even they know that when I’m writing… do not interrupt.
Today… I chose to go for a walk with a gorgeous sister instead. My day has been a bit thrown off by this PLUS… I walked and went to the gym… which for me is a BIG amount of exercise in a day and when I told my hubby I was doing that… he laughed and said… how long will you sleep?
I did take a 20 min nap.
Why am I telling you this?
I’m sitting here with a slight headache… tired… and my EGO says… curl up in a ball and hide from the world.
My heart, my soul, my messenger, the professional in me says… SHOW UP AND DO THE THING.
There are SOOO MANY DAYS… I could be taken over by the emotions… I could run and hide… I could let my EGO win… the part of me that is afraid of my own power… the part of me that wants to go get a job, keep my privacy, live a ‘normal’ life… the one who wants to feel ‘safe’ and hide away…
You know that one right?
The EGO that likes to sabotage you to stay in the same place so that it can feel safe… because better the devil you know where you are at… then accelerate forward on the path of ascension and create your dreams.
So you have a choice… as did I just now…
Listen to ego and get stuck in the emotions and let it rule you… or rise ABOVE IT… and SHOW UP.
Show up for your purpose… show up for your passion… show up for your followers, your tribe, even if it’s only small… show up because you KNOW this is what you are BORN TO DO.
Some of you may say.. yes but keri… that isn’t honouring your soul… if you are tired, etc… and you are PUSHING yourself.
The truth is… no I’m not… and that is a SHORT TERM decision.
If you TRULY want to be a messenger and be seen and heard and make this… your purpose work… your life, then you get to look to the LONG TERM game.
You get to show up when it feels uncomfortable. You get to show up when you feel tired…. you get to show up when you don’t know what you are going to say… ie: this whole blog post… started not knowing what I would say… but sitting myself down with a computer and allowing it to flow through me.
BECAUSE… this is my purpose work… my art… my passion.
And if I didn’t get and STAY mother f-ing committed to my writing, livestreams, showing up… you wouldn’t SEE ME…
and if you don’t SEE ME… you can’t receive my transmission… my message and I’m not living my purpose and then I want to shrivel up and DIE.
So.. yes… I hold to the LONG TERM vision and get over the limiting thoughts in my mind that say… HIDE, when really the time is to SHOW UP AND EXPRESS.
And this is what it takes to truly embody the work of the messenger… whether it’s writing and speaking or something else that you know is part of your purpose work… SHOW UP FOR IT.
Don’t let yourself down and play a haphazard SMALL game.
Don’t show up one day and disappear for a week.
COMMIT TO GOING ALL IN.
Because gorgeous one… that’s what it takes to be seen and create the impact that you so deeply desire to make.
