Saturday morning, I was on a call with my mama and she was sharing with me something I didn’t realise…
Yesterday was my grandma’s 1 year anniversary of her death, which I knew. And I knew it would be a tough day for my mama. It was for me… this whole season feels particularly challenging this year without my gram.
You see… I am Jewish… both parents. Full lineage, Jewish.
YET… somehow.. we grew up celebrating Christmas. It’s one of my mama’s fav days of the year and we always celebrated the spirit of giving and still do.
Not only did we celebrate, but because none of my other family celebrated… it was tradition to have my grandparents over for every xmas. They came and opened pressies with us and my mom always prepared an elaborate sit down brunch.
I didn’t know… that in her 70 years of life… this would be her first one alone. Of course, she is with her husband, but to not have either of her kids OR her mama there… was heart breaking for her.
By the evening, as tears streamed down my face.. my grandma’s voice in my whole being… staring at this beautiful picture of my gram…
I KNEW… my only choice… GO TO MY MOM. My gram was sending me there.
That night I said to Hugh… I have a CRAZY IDEA… I’m meant to go see my mom.
BUT… I knew… he had work on this week. His mom is in town and she is wanting a WHITE Christmas and we are due to have days of snow this week… all the way in from Australia… and I couldn’t ask them to leave Denver to come with me to California… but I had to be with my mom.
And so… after a quick discussion and complete understanding… I booked my flights and 36 hours later, I’m on a plane to see my mama without my boys.
I saw her a few weeks ago. I’ll see her in 3 weeks again. But this week… she doesn’t have to be alone.
I don’t know what we will do tomorrow. We had Christmas with her when we went to town for Thanksgiving and she wasn’t planning on having anyone there.
So it will be a different experience altogether. And that is perfectly ok.
I’m so grateful to my boys, hubby and mother-in-law for completely understanding my call to do this for my mama.
When I talk about SOUL-ALIGNED LIFE… this is what I am saying.
YOU NEVER GET TO QUESTION IT.
When you are tapped so strongly that it tingles through every cell of your body and moves you to tears… that is your inner knowing that you absolutely MUST listen to.
I say it all the time. It doesn’t ALWAYS makes sense. Sometimes it’s hard.
I promise… walking away from my boys on xmas eve was not easy as I saw the look of childhood wonder on Sam’s face. To not be there to make cookies with them today for Santa and help them write their letter… Makes my heart sad.
But… we ALL know… this is exactly as it’s meant to be. And so it is.
I feel blessed that I don’t wait for A DAY to share how much I love my kids… and they know… that whether I’m there or not any day of the year… that I love them with everything in my heart. And there is NO QUESTION about it. I tell them and share my love with them EVERY DAY.
Living a soul-aligned life… the kind where you live your life on path and miracles and magic happen every day because ultimately… you are doing your soul’s purpose and co-creating with source for your highest good…
It takes a deep trust and surrender that only comes with practice.
It takes knowing how to communicate with source, your soul, spirit…
It takes seeing and paying attention to the signs… and ACTING ON THEM.
I know MANY PEOPLE would have received this message and stayed home, if they heard it at all.
Maybe you can even think of a recent time right now that you didn’t ACT ON a message you were absolutely given, because it seemed hard, expensive, scary, crazy, out of your comfort zone…
EVERY TIME you do that… you are hindering your relationship with yourself and source, ultimately.
AND.. in order to get to the point where you can say YES so fully, like I just did… to something that seemed absolutely INSANE and yet SO FULLY YES…
You must learn to trust the little messages that come your way.
They are coming to you every single day.
Are you listening?
