Isn’t Mother Earth Spectacular??
After likely a decade away from bike riding on dirt… rocks, single track… I said yes to Moab today.
It was super wet. Really rainy. Shitty conditions.
My hero, my safety on a bike… my hubby Hugh Norley couldn’t ride with us as he busted his bike on his morning adventures in Moab.
The big boys took off early. Theresa Preston and I took Sam on the rocks and strangely really enjoyed it until Sam broke down absolutely frozen and we had to head back.
I have fears of riding on rocks.
I stink at navigating in dirt areas like this and don’t like to be on my own in the bush, never mind have to be the strength for my frozen 6yo child to ride 45 min back to the car park.
It was slippery and tons of puddles.
I said yes, anyway.
We ALL did it. We all made the best of the day.
And let me tell you… the view of this canyon we rode to… and quickly stopped to look at with Sam screaming cause he was miserable and ready to turn around.. it was worth it all.
The picture doesn’t come close to doing it justice.
Absolutely magical!
Never say never.
I rode rocks.
We got drenched.
I squealed through scary moments.
I wondered how I would make it all the way back with Sam.
I didn’t know if my directionally challenged self would get lost in the middle of nowhere with said freezing, done being on a bike child.
But we all did it.
I did it.
I’m so proud of myself.
I’m so proud of all of us for doing it no matter the weather or challenges we faced.
It’s all in the mind.
Decide. Commit. Act.
How you play in one area is how you play in all areas. 😉
And today.. no matter what… we overcame.
Epic day!!
And shhh… I quite enjoyed the ride.
